But I Don't Look Like That! | Raleigh, North Carolina | Boudoir Photographer
“I’d love to have a Boudoir Experience, but I don’t look like the women on your site.”
It’s something I hear (or some similar variation of that) all to often. If I’m being honest, I cringe a little inside every time I hear someone say it. I know it’s not true. Your friends and loved ones know that it’s not true. I want you to be able to see and realize that as well.
If you’re on the fence, I want to be able to give you that extra push and tell you to go for it. Maybe I should. I know that once you see your images and feel the rush of confidence and empowerment the whole experience brings, any previous thoughts of “not looking like that” will have faded into nothing more than a distant memory!
At the same time because it is such a personal experience, there’s only so much nudging I feel that I can and should do to help you decide to have a Boudoir Experience. I’m always here to answer any questions you might have and guide you through the entire process, but ultimately the decision is yours.
So rather than me giving you that extra push, I’ll let Mrs. J do it for me. Make sure to scroll down and read about what she thought after having her Boudoir Experience.
Why did you choose Beyond Boudoir for your boudoir experience?: Your work looked like it showed what girls really looked like while capturing their beauty. I also liked the more natural poses the girls did.
What were you most nervous about before or during your session?: I was most nervous about the fact that the photographer was a man. But Dave is very friendly and easy going and professional so it was easy to relax.
Did you feel comfortable throughout your session?: At first I was so nervous. Especially being more of an introvert and being married to my “high school sweetheart” also because I’m not fit or thin. I was worried nothing would look good because of that. But I ended up just relaxing and trying out poses, laughing and feeling really sexy. But for myself, I think I felt sexier during the shoot than seeing the photos. Ha but doesn’t every girl criticize herself? Ultimately it was a really fun experience.
How did you feel when you first saw your images?: I was so so glad that he captured how I felt in a lot of the images. I’m glad to have these reminders that I’m beautiful even at this “bigger” size.
Would you do a session again?: Yes
What would you say to someone on the fence about doing a session?: If you like the photos you see and think that you won’t look like those other girls, you’ll be so surprised and happy that you look just as amazing in your own body. It’s a great booster for confidence but not only that, proof that you look as great as you see yourself in your head, not in the mirror.
Anything else about your experience you'd like to mention?: It was great to get out of my comfort zone!
